Clan Member Code of Conduct

Postby Iggwilv on Fri Dec 22, 2006 3:14 am

When I created this clan my vision was for a mature, well-respected clan that wasn't caught up with competing, but would compete against other clans. I see this clan lasting until Halo 3 and maybe beyond. In order for it to make it there, ground rules need to be in place and enforced. There is a fine line between being fair and being too lax(chaos) or too strict(no fun), which the officers will be trying to walk. Please let us know if you think it is going one way or another so we can correct it.
These rules are to be followed by clan members at all times:

Clan Rules:

1.
[a] Members of the MAW clan may not be members of another clan for the specific game divisions they belong to. It almost always causes problems, people questioning loyalties, feathers getting ruffled and so forth. If you want to be in another clan please leave this one first.
[b] If you do leave you will be allowed back into the clan ONCE. If you leave a second time you will not be let back in.

2.
[a] All full members of the clan can and should wear the MAW~ tag. It is not required but highly encouraged.
[b] All cadets can and should wear the maw~ tag.
[c] Please keep the use of aliases to a minimum. It helps to identify each other. Some people think using an alias means they can act however they want but if we know your alias they you might as well be wearing the MAW~ tag.

3.
[a] Absolutely no hacking, cheating, modding is allowed while you are wearing the MAW~ tag. If you want to test mods or hacks take your tag off and DO NOT do it on our official servers.
[b] Anyone caught in violation of this rule will be demoted and possibly kicked from the clan.

4.
[a] Be respectful when dealing with other clans and their members.
[b] If you have a problem with another clan or its members bring it to the Officers. We will contact the other clan’s leadership and try to resolve the situation. Do not take it upon yourself to go to war against them, or attack them in any way. The retaliation will be against all of us, not just yourself.

5.
[a] Keep profanity to a minimum. Continual and repetitive use of profanity is considered immature.
[b] In the same manner, avoid comments or topics that are religious, political or racial, these kinds of discussion usually get everyone spun up and generate into flame wars. If you would like to start a topic about this and you agree to be mature about it, we kindly ask that you put it in the debate section.
[c] Stay away from sexual innuendos when dealing with Halo chicks, they get tired of that crap and you could be hitting on a 40-year old naked fat guy.

6.
[a] Obey the orders of ranking clan members. Please do as they ask, if you think they are abusing their power PM the Overlord.
[b] In a match, you need to do your best to carry out the assignment you are given. If you disagree with the tactics, discuss them AFTER the match.

7.
[a] Obey the admins of servers you are playing in. If they ask you to switch teams or stop doing an action, do it. Obey the rules of the server. If you disagree with the rules leave the server, do not antagonize them and force them to kick you off of the server.
[b] Do not recruit on other clans servers, it is considered poor form.

8.
[a] Keep trash-talking to a minimum or not at all. Do NOT trash-talk before a match, even if you are confident you will win. They may have new players and whip your butt.
[b] The only exception to this rule is when the other players talked up a storm before the match. If we won the match solidly then the trash should be shoveled back into their yard.

Violation of the rules will be enforced by punishment ranging from warnings to demotion or dismissal. There is no set punishments; each case will be evaluated according to its severity, frequency and effect on the clan.

I have updated the rules regarding the Two clans policy. It is fair and as of now, set in stone.
