Besides, I'm basing my opinions on the same thing you're basing yours off.

Using your logic, you should probably keep your praise to yourself since you have no first hand experience.

I haven't praised the game yet, I just said the new additions ,if put into practice well, will make this the best Halo game yet.

Bolded the part you chose to ignore, also they were? Damn mandated development windows.

I quoted your posts, and there's more praise I didn't quote. At no point did you tie the praise in with the condition that they the additions would need to put into practice well.

Halo 1 had around six years in development. They really needed to be kicked up the bum by Microsoft to get anything done or they'd have probably turned Halo into another Duke Nuke 'em Forever.

Well Halo was originally intended to be on the Mac/PC, once Bungie was bought out by MS they re-did the entire game in 6-8 months for the XBOX. I'm sure alot of things got cut due to it having to be out at launch.

EDIT* and its pretty much understood, by everyone what I meant about the new additions.

Sounds awfully alot like MW2

But by looks it seems like it should be enjoyable

I don't really think Halo has ever been fast-paced. Fast-paced would be Quake Live, L4D2 or HL2:DM (small maps, anyways).

Btcc22 wrote:I did spot a normal back melee though, so I'm not sure what's different about the new move other than taking a long time. Knowing Halo it'll probably let you fly 20 feet through the air (100 with a jetpack) and finish them off.

YUS! You know what would be awesome? A map where there was a red button that you press and you win every game you join for the rest of time. Oh, wait, that already exist in 3 in that fucking stupid ass map whose name I could give less of a shit about that has the RL RIGHT NEXT TO MORE RL AMMO!

DusK wrote:It's understandable to be wary. Remember the last time Bungie decided to add a bunch of stuff to Halo? It was called Halo 2. Remember how that turned out?

I, for one, think it's just Halo 3. Some people say it's going to have better graphics and shit due to the new engine. First, I see no difference from that video mainly due to lack of quality. Well, even then, so what? Knowing Bungie's laziness (letz fix plot holez wif moar plot wholes lololololo [as if I give a shit about story lines/plots anyways] ), the only thing this new engine will add other than stupid shit like the jet pack would be more possible exploitable glitches. The first Halo isn't comparable to Crysis yet I'd rather get on that than 2 or 3 any day of the week. New isn't always better.

Second, jet pack and assassination. Jet pack? Talk about getting an easier kill than when someone jumps. It's useless and stupid, the case with just about everything in Halo 3 and, apparently, Reach. Looked cool to me for 5 seconds then I realized the certain issues. Assassination moves? All right, cool, whatever. First, it looks extremely slow. So you jump on someone and sodomize them to death only to get off them and be anally penetrated yourself? No, thanks. What if nobody else is there? Yep, it'll work flawlessly... except of course for the sniper from half a mile away that saw you go John Holmes on someone and is waiting for you to hop off so he can see what how far his .50 slug will go after it rips through your cranium. It's obnoxious, it's dumb, it's useless. Even if it's optional (left + right + B = "GET OVER HERE!!!"... whoops, wrong one) it's still obnoxious, dumb and useless.

I'd like to see this certain Halo to be worth its price but I doubt that it's happening. You don't leave your kids at home to be looked after by a priest.

I should take my time to apologize to Omnios on behalf of myself and R2. We didn't mean to point out the obvious flaws on this perfect game.

Omnios, you really don't. Most people around here are civilized, at least until the point that they are insulted or feel like they arent being taken seriously. You are usually the one to start stuff.

Ever since you got the debate forum locked, it seems like the debates have spread all over the boards. I'm fine with you discussing Halo 3 in a civilized manner, however the moment this thread devolves into petty stabs at others, by anybody, its getting locked.

This is the only warning.

I'm shaking with fear, Mike. I act perfectly civil, until someone comes in a thread with people that are talking about something and proceed to needlessly bash it. In other forums are considered trolling/flaming, but I suppose that's being civil here.

So what if Btcc22 chose to "needlessly bash it"? Better him express his supposedly unfair criticism than to make a petty attack on Btcc22 himself. What did he do, make fun of your mother?

We're all people here who can disagree on anything, but that's okay -- what's crossing the line is insulting each other because of it.

I think Btcc22 and Prayer expressed reasonable skepticism.

That was back when I still MAW~ and most of it was active. Halo 1 will always be fun to boot up and get on with people you know. But after everyone's activity plummeted (including my own), you only had pubs since scrimming meant playing against complete dipshits. Since HPC came out, more and more elitist scrubs and retards have joined so it's just not even worth pubbing on.

Now there are just much better games (L4D2, BF:BC2, Diablo II [still], Titan Quest), the list goes on.

I tried BF:BC2 it seemed like such a poor rip of MW2 with cluncky controls. L4D2 is epic Diablo 2 fails imo though. Pubs can be fun from time to time if you get a group and find a non rocket server.

It's all right, funny shit to play with friends. I would say it's MW2 but in a different way. It's nothing amazing but worth getting. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who barely likes "MMOFPS's" like this. The only other I kind of liked was Wolfesntien: ET. You might want to wait for a bit, though. The game lags badly due to lack of server support. I guess they didn't expect the game to be so anticipated. There's also a glitch that when you try to join a specific server, it says it's full but when you refresh it it clearly isn't. I also saw some graphical glitches which I'm sure weren't caused by my overclocking(still testing that), kind of like when you see a map texture stick on a player. I can't say much about the game, though, I've neither the time to play it a lot nor the desire (currently anyways) with the massive lag this brilliant server support is causing.

Spartennum117 wrote:I tried BF:BC2 it seemed like such a poor rip of MW2 with cluncky controls.

You mean too many? PC/360/PS3? They're comfortable once you customize them in the PC, like with any other game. Yet another version why PC > everything else.

Spartennum117 wrote:L4D2 is epic

Epically fucking hilarious, my favorite game currently. 8v8 lags like a trick but it's just so chaotic and funny. I still hate parts of it, though.

Spartennum117 wrote:Diablo 2 fails imo though.

I love the way they did PvP. There's just so much you have to keep in mind. From specific builds to their specific gear. PvP aside, it fails. Just like every other RPG. Repetitive, hardly challenging (unless it's HC), boring. Good thing we have a bot to level/MF our accounts. Without the epic PvP, it'd be just another boring RPG.

Spartennum117 wrote:Pubs can be fun from time to time if you get a group and find a non rocket server.

No. Sorry but it isn't. You either get some dumbshit who just talks shit all day or someone who think they're pro and talking shit still when they need one rocket and a nade to kill you when they have an OS.

I didn't do an extensive playthrough of BC2 as I should to be talking about it, but in the beta, I couldn't get the controls how I liked them and I wish my pc was good enough to even run this at minimum. Oh yea on the 360.

I never played Diablo 2 on a public sever so I might not be able to rightfully bash it either, because there wasn't much PvP going on.

I never got to try versus mode in L4D2 because I don't own it, but I will soon :)

I do get some servers that aren't like that actually, mainly when Igg is online playing, I sometimes jump in and it's not so bad.

I can't get excited about it cuz it will prob never make it to the PC. I'm wondering if Halo 3 will ever make it to the PC. If I could find to person most responsible for H2V I would probably end their life.

I was just playing HaloPC this weekend, it never gets old. Even had some nice back and forth down to the wire CTF games.
